Stainless Steel Alloy Fermonic 50 Annealated®, XM-19, NIT 50 Annealed, UNS S20910

Fermonic 50 Annealated® is a nitrogen-strengthened stainless steel that is known for its excellent resistance to corrosion. Also known as XM-19, NIT 50 Annealed, and UNS S20910, other features of Fermonic 50 Annealated include:

  • Resistance to chloride stress corrosion
  • Greater hardness and strength when compared to 316L and 317L austenitic stainless steels
  • Low magnetic permeability
  • Good corrosion resistance to seawater and industrial acids
  • Tensile strength of 690

Fermonic 50 Annealated is perfect for a wide range of applications including chemical processing, shipbuilding, oil and gas, food production, and pulp and paper manufacturing. In order to be considered Fermonic 50 Annealated,an alloy must have the following chemical composition,

  • Cr 20.5-23.5%
  • Ni 11.5-13.5%
  • Fe 6.0%
  • Mn 4.0-6.0%
  • Mo 1.5-3.0%
  • Si 1.0% max
  • V 0.10-0.30%
  • C .06% max
