Position Description

Continental Steel & Tube Co., a diversified distributor that sells a broad array of products and metals in the USA and international markets, is currently seeking a National Sales Manager to lead its Sales Team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The National Sales Manager will act as a revenue and profit generator as s/he manages a sales force while concentrating on account development and account retention within our markets. S/he will also participate in the development and implementation of a strategic marketing plan.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Meets or exceeds sales goals
  • Uses and maximizes a CRM tool
  • Proactively builds and supports a sales effort to grow the current business
  • Develops and executes a sales program on a segment-specific basis that reflects a strong understanding of what drives profitability. Will identify, develop, and maintain relationships with major accounts and develop new accounts
  • Along with the General Manager, establishes sales and profit goals including margin targets
  • Forecasts sales and profit and is held accountable for its deliverance on a consistent basis
  • Drives sales performance
  • Leads, motivates, and develops sales staff to achieve market share and profit objectives
  • Prepares strategically defined sales plans and programs to aggressively and profitably expand the company’s sales volume in its defined markets.
  • Makes sales calls on customers to help secure business and improve profitability
  • Displays a sense of urgency
  • Trains, coaches, and mentors sales personnel
  • Demonstrates commercial expertise
  • Guides pricing, customer service, inventory management, and plant scheduling to achieve volume and margin objectives; cultivates new customers and retains and grows valued accounts through effective customer solution deliveries
  • Establishes and utilizes all internal and external resources appropriate to the assimilation of background data on competitive market activities and trends. Analyzes such data to identify and exploit opportunities for forward action planning
  • Has in-depth knowledge of our competitors’ capabilities and knows how to best position our clients’ offers against them
  • Builds credibility and trust with current and prospective customers
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Displays great personal commitment to customer satisfaction and thus leads by example
  • Promotes a culture that will respond quickly to resolve customer issues or problems

Review the company’s weekly quotation activity helping to provide feedback across business disciplines. Drive an increase in quote lines per week and improve efficiencies centered on conversion rates.

Position Requirements :

  • A solid record of successful sales leadership experience in a metals, fabrication, or metals distribution environment
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • 10+ years of industry experience
